Advice on car buying

Looking for some help figuring out which car to buy. After a long and arduous process of elimination we narrowed down to 2 cars.

2013 Honda Fit with 41k miles in EXCELLENT condition for 12,600 total price.

2022 Honda HR-V with 18k miles, certified (2 year bumper to bumper coverage and 100k/7 years of power train) for 25,300 total price.

I can pay for Fit out right and not have payments or i can put that 12,600 towards the HR-V. The reason Im even considering a payment is that Honda has a promotional APR on Certified cars at 1% for 3 years.

The main sticking points are: I will have a payment for the next 3 years with the HR-V and no matter how great of a condition the Fit is in - its a 12 year old car.

Im not going to keep the car for as long as possible, resale value is irrelevant.

There are too many unknown conditions to help answer your question. If you every have to drive through rural WI or MN in winter, the Fit is a hard no. Do you regularly carry people or stuff in your car? If so, the HRV might be better. Do you drive long distances, the Fit may be great or you may find the seats ridiculously uncomfortable for a road trip (a recent discovery from a recent road trip in a Fit of the same generation).

I drive a 2015 Fit and mechanically it's been a good car with low operating costs, good on gas and inexpensive insurance. 112k and because it's lightweight I'm still on the original brake pads lol

I also have a 2013 Odyssey and while it's a 12 year old vehicle, mechanically everything is sound. I bought it used in 2019 with only 34k on it. I've only done regular maintenance and recently just had the front discs and pads replaced. It's a much heavier vehicle and the family hauler/road trip car so the brakes get worked out. As long as the vehicle has been well maintained, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

The Fit is half the price. By BIL had the HRV and I thought it felt underpowered compared to my Fit.
