Small Business Credit Card

Small Business Credit Card

Been scouring the internet, but have come up empty, so opening the question to my FI friends.

I am looking for a small business credit card, with the following attributes:

  • No personal guarantee
  • No direct bank link (i.e. I push payments, they don't pull)
  • Credit Card (not a charge card)

Other notes: looking for a small limit for office purchases (like $500/month). Revenue is multiple magnitudes larger than that. This should make it low risk for a bank (in my mind)

Nice to have:

  • Phone number for customer service instead of "help desk ticket" that goes into a black hole for weeks.
  • Physical plastic cards
  • I don't need all the bill pay/account payables bells and whistles that Brex and Ramp offer (for example)

Thanks for your thoughts.

Joe

I’m curious with such a small limit you plan to set on the card, why the personal guarantee is a deal breaker?

What you’re looking for does sound unusual so I’m more curious than anything. I’d think smaller regional banks would be more likely to work with you on something like this vs the large national names

Try your current personal bank. In early 2025 I moved my small business checking (from AMEX) to Wells Fargo so it's the same login as my personal checking/credit card but distinct and separate accounts. I did the same for my small business credit card a few months later and got the WF signify. I'm similar to you that I charge less than 1K a month most months. I did get a sign on bonus for both too. I don't remember having any personal guarantee and they don't pull the payment I push every Friday. My super small business does have an EIN and is an LLC which many banks require, but other than that my personal history with WF may have influenced it.

My only loss was that I loose a little interest on the balance as AMEX was more progressive then WF but the simplification was worth it.

Good luck

Hey Joe,

I have this one. I like it and the cash back is nice. The intro bonus may be a little hard to get if you don’t have many expenses but the cash back is nice. It’s an actual credit card and I think it might fit your needs.
