Fetch

Have any of you had success using Fetch? I’ve always kept receipts, but just taking photos of my receipts has earned me points toward gift cards to places I already shop. It’s definitely incremental… and worth it.

Also - I’m new to the FI community, but not to the idea of FI. I look forward to learning!

It took me about 7 years to get to a 50 dollar amazon card from them so I recently just cashed out and then deleted the app. I only ever shop fresh food at the grocery, and that doesn't really earn me any points besides the 25 for a receipt scan.

I am a Fetch user as well and pretty much use it only with receipt scanning. I have a set of apps that I scan every receipt into (Fetch, Receipt Hog, Receipt Pal, CoinOut, Receipt Jar, Pogo, Copper) and I calculated that I get about $0.55 per receipt in cash back or gift cards across them all.

I play the games on Fetch and get points a lot quicker that way. I NEVER pay for games, I just take my time and play when I feel like it. Some games are easier to get points than others so switching around and getting the easy points can add up a lot faster than just receipts. My sister and I also scavenge the ground outside of stores and snatch up other peoples discarded receipts, I have no shame when it comes to earning "free money".

I use it too! I rarely snap pictures of receipts but have it linked to my email where it pulls my online receipts and I get a decent number of points that way that I’ve cashed in for gift cards. It’s not much but worth the very minimal effort to feel like I’m getting something for free!

Yeah. I’ve used it for awhile. Got some decent gifts cards. It’s always like winning a little lottery when you actually get bonus points for buying certain things. But I never know when that is going to hit because I don’t usually buy things for that purpose. It just happens sometimes. And it doesn’t seem to be happening quite as often now. And at 25 points a receipt, it takes forever to get anything.

I have for years now. It is very slow to accumulate points but I don’t really mind that. I’ve redeemed points for a few gift cards, primarily Amazon cards. It’s a straight forward process and I’ve had no issues.

Credit Card Numbers Auto Update

Not sure if you're aware of this or not (I wasn't) but if you are issued a new credit card number the credit card company will automatically update your number to companies that auto charge your account. I recently had a fraudulent charge on my credit card and was issued a new card number (still waiting for the card to arrive) and was surprised to see subscription charges show up now that I have a new card number. They claim that VISA and Mastercard are the ones that do this. My questions is wha...

How do you think about donating?

I am curious how you all balance the "Math of FI" / Die with Zero approach to life with the "Ethics of Giving." I made a pledge at Giving What We Can to set aside 10% of my income - is that enough? Should I try to donate more? Thanks for any help from this wonderful community!

Planning App

Does anyone have an app recommendation that I can use to pull in all my accounts AND will provide me a breakdown of how much dividends per month I receive, interest/growth income. I use my CC for spending and pay it off monthly so I'd also like to be able to pull that in to see categorically what I spend in. This may be too much detailed info but I like seeing that level of granularity.
