Our Commitment to Accessibility
Last Updated: September 14, 2026
Choose FI Media, Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website and platform are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every person has the right to access financial independence resources with dignity, equality, and independence.
Our Approach
Rather than relying on third-party overlay widgets, we build accessibility directly into our platform at the component and design system level. Our approach includes:
- ARIA attributes on all interactive components — Every button, modal, dropdown, form input, and navigation element includes appropriate ARIA roles, labels, and states built into the component library.
- Token-based design system for contrast — Our design tokens enforce color contrast ratios that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards across all themes, ensuring text and interactive elements are readable for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.
- Semantic HTML throughout — We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, lists, and native HTML elements to ensure screen readers and assistive technologies can parse our content accurately.
- Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are fully navigable using a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators so you always know where you are on the page.
- Responsive and adaptive layout — Content reflows at all screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Form accessibility — All form fields include associated labels, clear error messages, and instructions that are programmatically linked to their inputs.
Standards We Follow
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines help us ensure our content is:
- Perceivable — Text alternatives for images, sufficient color contrast, and content that can be presented in different ways without losing meaning.
- Operable — Full keyboard access, no time-dependent interactions, and navigation that is consistent and predictable.
- Understandable — Readable text, predictable behavior, and input assistance to help avoid and correct mistakes.
- Robust — Compatible with current and future assistive technologies through valid, semantic markup.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We continuously work to improve our platform by:
- Building accessibility into every new feature from the start rather than retrofitting it after the fact.
- Using a component library with built-in accessibility support, reducing the chance of individual pages falling short.
- Reviewing and updating older content as we migrate from our legacy platform.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. In particular:
- Some older blog posts and podcast show notes created before our current design system may have formatting or contrast issues.
- Third-party embedded content (such as YouTube videos or social media embeds) may not meet our accessibility standards.
- PDF documents linked from the site may not be fully accessible.
We are actively working to address these gaps as we update content across the site.
