Best Place to start for new Mortgage

Best Place to start for new Mortgage

Buying a new home in the next few months - bought our last home in 2020 (going to miss those rates) and it feels like the mortgage game has changed dramatically - where is the best place to start searching for competitive rates? I used to always start with bankrate, but having trouble seeing jumbo options there.

Thanks in advance!

Your realtor if you have one likely has a relationship with a broker or you can find your own. Some small banks and credit unions are also good. I would avoid the big banks. They are slow, unresponsive, and at times downright incompetent. I have heard of them blowing deals.

Blake, I do not know what state you live in but in San Diego, CA I would start a conversation with Gary Cooper at Mountain Trust Mortgage. He is a Mortgage Broker and he can give you Jumbo rates from multiple companies. I do not recommend getting a mortgage from a bank because banks create their own rates and the hidden fees are not always transparent. Good luck on your new home purchase
