Hah, that sounds like an advertisement. But I've been stalling on purchasing a MintMobile plan for a few months. I just bought one today... and they're having a 50% off deal on their unlimited plan - so it's as cheap as their lowest plan - at $15/month per line. So if you've been waiting on it, now might be a great time to lock in that price for 3, 6, or 12 months. You can always switch to a lower plan after that time (which is what I plan to do).

Tello mobile just dropped their 10GB plan to $15/month (not a promotion). Uses T-Mobile for coverage, just like Mint. The nice thing is you pay monthly, not prepaying for a quarter or a year at a time.

I, my husband, and my parents have been using Mint for 13 months now (choosefi is the influence that inspired us to switch). We got the 50% off unlimited plan for 1 year for all 4 of us. One thing I liked, but wasn't sure I believed, was their promise upon signing up that upon renewal 'they would tell us if we needed unlimited or if we could downgrade' based on our usage. Well, I can now update on how that went (for us).
Firstly, they didn't tell us anything via email or in the app that indicated if one, two, three, or all of us should downgrade. The app seems to only show the current statement usage, so if you tracked it manually all year by person you could know this on your own. I would recommend that, honestly. I then started thinking maybe they would send an email before renewal telling me (the account manager for all) what data plan to go with. That is what I expected based on the promise on the initial sign up. So I was pretty disappointed that I had to call in and try to figure out what data level we really needed as I couldn't find it anywhere 'self-service'.
That said, when I very explicitly stated that is what I needed to know (what is the lowest appropriate data level per line that we should renew), and after about 45 minutes on the phone (each line had to be 'researched' by the rep), we did learn that we could downgrade 4/4 lines, 2 of them to the 5BM, 2 to the 15 GB plan. So all in all I was happy to get this info and downgrade without worry - but wish it'd been a bit more transparent!

My wife and I retired in 2023. We tried out Mint and Visible. For our coverage area Mint had some issues and wasnt unlimited - so we both eventually migrated to Visible (verizon network) and full price for unlimited is $275 per year ($22.92 per mth). You can also find sales especially around Black Friday. However peace of mind for unlimited and good coverage for ~$23 is an easy yes for us.

Yep! I just switched to Mint last weekend with the same 12 month deal. I was using GoogleFi but it was getting expensive.

I use Tello, which also uses T-Mobile's towers. I think I've been there about 5-6 years or so. With Tello, you do prepay one month at a time, not multiple, which is nice. If you aren't a big data user Tello is a great option. I do the unlimited talk/text with 1 GB of data for $9/month. In my area of Ohio the total cost comes to $9.34. I could do 2 GB for $1 more per month but don't really need it. Tello also has 5 GB per month for $14.

I got the 50% off deal last year on the $30/mo unlimited about a year ago. I switched from Verison, and I can't say that I noticed a difference in coverage/reception at all (Mint uses the T-Mobile network). I usually stick to the cities though so your results may vary if you live in a rural area. They offered me another year at 50% a month ago as a promo deal and I jumped on it. So I now have 2 years of the unlimited plan for $415.60. ($209.61 Jan 2025 & 205.99 Dec 2025) My regular verison cell phone bill used to be about $150/month (no phone payment - I always buy outright from the manufacturer) so I saved about $3k over 2 years. Highly recommend!

Been a huge fan of my mint mobile service for 2 years. And then they launched 5G internet and poof! My old internet provider got the boot! Best feeling ever!

Mint Mobile doesn't offer true monthly plans; instead, you pay for service in bulk, choosing 3, 6, or 12 months upfront, with longer commitments getting you the lowest per-month rate, like $15/month for 12 months on their unlimited plan after intro offers, though you pay the total cost at once (e.g., $180 for 12 months). You get a monthly rate, but you pay for the whole term upfront, not month-to-month.
