As a DR FPU graduate many years over, I found myself afloat without a financial purpose thinking that I was doing well. Afterall, we were above average....Right? no debt(except mortgage), no CC to get us in trouble, saving (some) each year, decent EF, and living below our means. Well J & B sucked me into their vortex that is FI and lifted the haze from my otherwise foggy financial path forward. The ChooseFI podcast is the perfect balance of challenging the norms while tipping the proverbial cap to many paths ppl have taken to get in a better financial position. They have provided and easy to listen (even in 1.5x speed) smorgasbord of clear paths forward to a life by design. They eloquantly guide their weekly guest to divulge their not-so secert "hacks" for us to draw from. I only hope they know the POWER they hold by opening this can of worms in this type of desirable audio format! Unfortunalty, I have binged my way current and will resort to re-listening for take aways I may have missed.

Jonathan and Brad are great! My wife and I were already heading down the FI path, but now we have the tools and knowledge to do it smarter and with more confidence. For us, the 4 key variables in the FIRE equation are salary income, investing, taxes, and expenses. We were already doing well in the income, investing, and expenses aspect but these two beautiful gentleman opened our eyes to tax optimization in a way I couldn’t imagine. We were contributing to our 401Ks only enough to get our company match because we were afraid to have too much money locked up until 59.5. Thanks to what I’ve learned from ChooseFI regarding tax conversion ladders, tax gain harvesting, and income/distributions at the 0% tax rate, we are able to reduce our federal income taxes by $8,500 per year! Our timeframe for FI has been reduced by a couple of years due to this amazing and POWERFUL knowledge. And to think, I used to primarily listen to fantasy football podcasts in the hopes of finishing top 3 and getting a $300 cash prize. Keep up the great work!!!
