Hi all, we hit FI this year and left full time employment. šŸŽ‰ I just wrapped up 6 months of continued intermittent consulting with my employer. What does everyone do with LinkedIn after hitting FI?

My husband is still part time consulting. I will continue to volunteer, work our hobby beehives/lead our local beekeeping club, traveling, gardening, reading, etc. I’m not sure if I should list the beekeeping as my new job since in brings in some hobby income? Just leave LinkedIn blank? I almost never get in the platform but don't plan to leave just yet.

Was curious how others have approached this topic. Thanks in advance!

What if you didn't have to fully retire?

Financial freedom doesn't mean quitting work. Design a life where work is optional.

I would lean into it and list "Beekeeper" as your new occupation.

I think sabbatical has a nice ring to it 😊

the nice thing about exiting the workforce - mentally you know within the first 6 months, financially you know within the first 2 years.. ( all of those can be easily explained away under the banner of sabbatical … and sequence of return risk phases out by year 5 … so for linkedin I would just engineer it around the sabbatical concept that is culturally normalized already in many industries
